Size
Macaws are among the largest domesticated parrots, and require a large cage that can handle their size. These intelligent birds require plenty of space for exercise and play. They also enjoy playing with their cages that keep them engaged throughout the day. Ideally, the cage should be at least 3 feet wide, 2.5 feet deep, and 6 feet tall.
The recommended minimum size of cage for macaws is 1.5 to 2x the bird's wingspan to allow them where to buy a macaw move around and exercise. If you choose to put perches and toys, feeders and food stations in the cage, that will take up space and leave less room for the exercise of the wings.
