World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item upgrader kit is determined by the item upgrader mod (sneak a peek at these guys)'s level. The cost increases as the Best item upgrader's level rises.
Components
upgrade item components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied only once.
