The Best item upgrade option lets players boost the gear rating of an Item upgrader Mod by up to 700 points and item upgrades add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats like the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a unit. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage that a weapon upgrade items alone can do.
The cost of item upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity and level.
