Mental Health Assessment and Advocacy in initial mental health assessment Health
A A1 Mental Health Assessment health assessment is an examination by medical professionals of your mental health cognitive assessment state as well as your ability to concentrate and remember information, and your way of interacting with other people. It can also be used to check if a person has certain senior mental health assessment disorders, such as depression or neurological disorders such as dementia.
During the assessment during the assessment, you will be asked questions. Some people find it useful to bring someone from the family or a close friend to help them, or ask for an advocate, such as an official from the local council or the charity Mind to be present.
Holistic approach
The holistic approach to mental health assessment is based on the whole person, including their physical and spiritual wellbeing. It also takes into account the lifestyle of the patient, as well as their relationships, as they play a major role in the mental health of a person.
