Aromatically much less intense and delicate than the Black Truffle (Tuber melanosporum), remains a truffle with its scent approaching and barely harking back to mushrooms and undergrowth. They're a little less lumpy than other truffle varieties (which is why they're called Smooth Black Truffles), taking on a more spherical form. A bit bit can go a great distance, so that you don’t want to make use of an excessive amount of, or you could damage the dish. Saute the shallots flippantly in a little bit butter. The steak was bursting with heat juice that ran like a river into the valley of melted truffle butter on the plate.
