Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus on the item upgrader mod's stats. The amount of bonus varies according to the rarity and level of the upgrade items component.
Components
Upgrade components are the items that make your weapons and armor better. You can find them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in item-spheres. You can also get them from equipment that contains the components or through salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when you remove them from an item upgrader kit.
