The item upgrader mod Upgrader in World of Warcraft
The War Within introduced Valorstones, and Harbinger Crests as two currencies for upgrading equipment. They can be exchanged at the NPCs for upgrading items, Cuzolth and Vaskarn.
Each Item Upgrader kit can be upgraded to its highest level for a particular slot at a time. After that, upgrades to that slot will be cheaper. The pity system that was introduced with The War Within, also reduces the extreme variance of upgrades.
Upgrades
Upgrades are components that improve performance or add new functions. Upgrades can be bought or earned in a variety of ways like events in the game or cash shop items.
Unlike enchantments, which can be added to any item upgrade, upgrades are tied to specific items and can only be applied to the items. This means that an upgrade item cannot be applied to a weapon until it is already equipped by a player. Some items can be upgraded multiple times, providing a greater benefit to the player.
