The Biewer Yorkshire Terrier was created by the rare recessive gene in two Yorkshire Terriers. The parents of the Biewer Yorkshire Terrier produced the pied puppy (normally Yorkies are slate grey and tan, or cream and merle).
The bald, piebald puppy enticed breeders Werner and Gertrud Biewer, Britta Yorkshire Terrier Welpen Kaufen (read more) who began breeding Yorkshire Terriers to create more puppies with the white markings. The breed was honed to the point that it became its own distinct breed in 2014, when it was accepted into the AKC Foundation Stock Service.
Characteristics
Although the Biewer Terrier is a breed for toy, it's often described as "a big dog in a small dog's body." They have a lively personality and are extremely smart. They're loyal to their human and love spending time with them however, they also enjoy playing with their family members or pets. They're ideal for families with children of all different ages.
