What Can a Smart Car Key Fob Do For You?
Mercedes introduced the first fobs in the year 1998. They are also known as smart keys, keyless entry or keyless entry fobs. Key fobs that are controlled by computers perform many tasks, including locking and unlocking a vehicle and also starting it.
They work by transmitting an encrypted, rolling message. They are protected from thieves who are tech-savvy.
Safety
A smart car key programmer key fob constantly communicates with the vehicle via radiofrequency waves. It sends out a low-power signal that, when pressed, instructs the car to open doors and start its engine. The car is programmed to recognize the unique encryption code of a specific key fob. This means that if the keyfob is stolen, the car smart key can't be started.
But a new type of hack can let thieves exploit this communication. Relay attacks are carried out with devices that transmit at the same rate as key fobs.
