What is a transponder key?
A transponder key is a car key programmers key with an additional security measure against theft integrated into it. This is achieved by integrating a microchip that is used to identify radio frequency signals inside the head of the key programmer. The chip is used for relaying a signal to your vehicle's immobilizer during the ignition's start-up procedure. This chip stops hot-wiring process and makes it extremely difficult to take an automobile.
It's not the case that transponder keys are a guarantee.
