How to Upgrade Items in World of Warcraft

Glyphs are able to be added to weapons and gathering tools as upgrade item components. Unlike other item upgrades, glyphs are able to be swapped out and removed.

Glyphs can be used to increase your character's strength in specific areas. They can be used to increase a character's secondary stat or item upgrader mod primary stat. Certain glyphs also come with fixed bonuses that become available when certain requirements for stats are met. For example, increasing critical strike damage after casting an offensive magic spell by 10 percent. These bonuses are worth upgrading Glyphs.
