After a long period of uncertainty and worry, Brazilian and German conservationists were able to reintroduce a group of couples into their natural habitat. Their story is inspiring but also rife with backbiting and jealousies.
The first obstacle was getting enough birds to exchange. The can macaws be pets were monogamous, therefore it was important to match pairs well.
Range
A South African couple is working to save the critically endangered Spix's macaw purchase, which was declared extinct in 2000 following years of poaching and habitat loss. They have a tiny population of the birds that are in captive, price of blue macaw and are hoping to release them into the wild close to Curaca. They call them their blue-eyed friends and compared their journey to the story of Presley, the last known Spix's macaw to buy from the wild. They describe him as a true survivor who lost his family but was loyal to his home. They feel a strong kinship to him and view their lives as like his.
