Did anyone else have the knowledge that VAG cars will lock themselves without warning in the event that the key fob has been stored in the boot? Daughter did this with her Ateca R and it was a total shock.

What do I do?
There is a bug in my t-roc that locks the boot when I put the locksmith volkswagen keys inside. If you leave the keys inside, but close the boot it will lock automatically and no indicator will sound or flash. I've contacted various roadside assistance services and they told me they'd need to come and unlock it which is quite a hassle.
The best way I've found is to push the top of the door ajar with your fingers, there is a gap and feed the the car volkswagen key fob with the hook that's attached to it then jiggle it around and it will unlock, you may have to make use of a small screwdriver to do this.
