World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.
For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an Item upgrades increases as it reaches the item upgrader mod's current level. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.
Components
upgrade items components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item upgrader kit must be at least upgraded to a blue level before the component can be used.
