World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
The feature of upgrading items allows players to increase the item level for weapons that can be equipped or armor. This improves the stats of that equipment, and also sometimes adding buffs or rerolling an affix.
It is important to remember that upgrading common gear isn't always worth it. Rare and unique gear will soon surpass modernized equipment and magic.
Cost
When a player upgrades an item level upgrade, they must pay Gold for the upgrade. The cost to upgrade an item depends on the item upgrading's current level and type of upgrade item. For instance upgrading a weapon is typically be cheaper than upgrading armor because weapons require lower levels of skill. The amount of Gold needed increases as an item upgrader is upgraded.
The upgraded items will also have improved stats that can improve its performance in various ways. This includes increasing the power of its attack critical strike chance, or damage per second.
