Each item upgrading can hold up to 10 upgrade bars or segments. Each upgrade segment or bar requires a certain amount of resources like Iron Ore Leather and Titanium. They can be found when exploring the surroundings or by looting small loot chests. The amount of resources required increases as the upgrade level of an item upgrader mod increases.
Some items, such as shoulders and hats require extremely high levels of upgrading to attain their maximum value.
