Over time, uPVC window double glazing door handles and locks may be damaged by wear and tear, or accidental or intentional damage. It can be that the handle or lock becomes difficult to close or open, or that they are not even locked. If this happens it may be tempting to replace the entire window unit, but it's not always necessary. In many instances the case, a new handle or lock is all that's needed.
The most common kind of uPVC window handle is the espagnolette. The handle comes with an outer spindle that extends out of the handle. It slots into a gearbox that operates the multipoint locking mechanism inside the window.
