Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
Item upgrades allow players to increase the level of equippable items like weapons or armor, as well trinkets to a certain level. They can be done at any Best item upgrade upgrader NPC with the appropriate currency.
Upgrade components are inserted into equipment to give attributes bonuses and other effects. They are generally slot-restricted, however, there are some universal upgrades.
Rerolling
In Diablo 4, a player can roll back an upgrade for an item. This is done via the Level Up mechanic, which suspends the game and displays a list of four randomly selected upgrades. The player can select one of the upgrades and continue the battle. Rerolling is the same price as an ordinary Level Up. Players must be careful to choose the right upgrade items, as they won't know the new stats until the item level upgrade has been changed.
