World of Warcraft item level upgrade Upgrades
The upgrade of an item can be used to boost the stats of an Best item upgrade. Depending on the upgrade item type it can raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.

The value of an item's basic stats increases as it is upgraded. This value is the sum of all of an item upgrader's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader you choose and the kind of upgrade you decide to perform. This is due to how many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.
It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear since PvP is not available at lower levels. Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.
