Item upgrade is a system that lets players increase the level of their armor, weapons and trinkets above what they can obtain from specific Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor sources. It requires crests and currencies and is available at any NPC that upgrades items.
Items that have high requirements (eth titans, for instance) typically gain value after upgrading. Items with low requirements have a lower value because they are able to be rolled flawlessly regardless of the upgrade.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to upgrade an Best item upgrade. Event rewards and monsters can give them. They are available in three subtypes: rare, enhanced and legendary. If a player has a reroll token, they can right click on a Satanic or Angelic item and choose the option to reroll the value of the item upgrader. This will exhaust the rerolling token. Reroll tokens are also available for trading with other players.
